THE LATTER PART OF OUR NAME, 1930 PAYS RESPECT TO MR. GEORGE JENKINS, FOUNDER OF PUBLIX, WHO OPENED THE FIRST STORE IN THIS VERY LOCATION ON SEPTEMBER 6, 1930. WE HAVE A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH PUBLIX, AND THEY HAVE DONATED MANY OF THE PICTURES ADORING THE WALLS HERE.
